Why Harry & Meghan Should Consider Settling on the West Coast
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle recently spent Christmas at a home in Saanich on Vancouver Island, and there has since been speculation that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be making Canada their part-time home. While they haven’t confirmed their plans to move to Canada, we do know that they enjoyed their Christmas getaway on Vancouver Island.
The West Coast has lots to offer in terms of liveability, both in Vancouver and in Victoria, according to the 2019 RE/MAX Liveability Report, as well as real estate. The West Coast boasts ocean-front living, and the mild temperatures in the winter are a huge asset as well.
A recent article by Huffington Post highlights the fact that Vancouver Island real estate could get a big boost from Harry & Meghan’s stay over the Christmas season. While Vancouver Island is a relatively quiet corner of Canada, the interest has already begun to show with a spike in Google searches for “Victoria” and “Saanich.”
While Harry and Meghan’s move could place them anywhere in Canada, their Christmas getaway in Saanich could be prefacing a decision to settle on the West Coast. This means they could potentially be in the market for Vancouver real estate, most likely in the form of Vancouver luxury homes!
There is no shortage of Vancouver houses for sale, many of which would be well suited to Harry and Meghan if they decide to put down roots on the West Coast. If this is the case, RE/MAX has selected a handful of stunning West Coast RE/MAX Collection listings that might be fit for the royal couple.
